When the sun never set on an empire !!

This is a trip down world history!!

This is the largest terracotta fountain in the world. The 4 sides represent the four corners of the world that were captured and governed by the British. The direction from which the foto was taken corresponds to the Indian sub-continent!
The fotos are taken by my MBA batch mate and a great friend Gokul Krishnamoorthy at Glasgow Greens. Gokul is a typical Mallu and a fantastic cook.

The unfinished 'Adda'

They sat on the benches...unaware of the world around...oblivious of the circus of life...deeply immersed in a discussion. One thing led to the other, one thought gave birth to another. And when all words were spoken...they left...

The park benches are silent once more...the bottle of beer is empty...the sandwich eaten...but the ‘adda’ is not over yet...the silence is a promise of more such passionate discussions...someday, sometime. Soon...

This foto was taken in Gonchara, Kiev by an old friend of mine named Saheli Chakraborty. She is a passionate fotographer and a computer wizard. She is currently in Ukraine, happily married to a common friend of ours. Thanks for joining the motley crowd Saheli...

Of helmets and high heels

This foto too is taken by Avi...somewhere on the streetsides of London. The womanizer he is, even second world war martyrs couldn't escape him...

Perspectives...

Now that's fetching! Guess, we've got heroes on both sides, huh?

The foto above is taken in London by a very good friend of mine named Avinash Boroowa. Avi is also a batchmate in the MBA program at Strathclyde B-School (Batch of '08). He is a brilliant musician, composer, singer and now part of this movement called fotomentary. Welcome aboard Avi...

The circle of life...

This foto was taken on christmas eve 07 at St.Georges Square, Glasgow. They didn't allow me on the ride. They said I'm too old for it. Wish life could start again from that pram...

It's time to go...

You might think this to be a queer foto to start a blog, but I think it fits in just perfectly!! It says so much without saying anything. It reveals a universal truth that none can escape. A call so definite so pronounced that none can deny.
My starting this blog was also because of a call - from within - a call so powerful that I couldn't deny.
I had taken this foto in 'Necropolis' - an old graveyard in Glasgow. Its a beautiful place 5 minutes from my house just behind the Glasgow Cathedral. I don't know why but out of the thousand tombs my eyes got stuck on this one. Was it the beauty of the fairy I don't know...but it sure has had an impression on me!!
Is the cross in the background just a coincidence?
